What Gave You the Right To Speak for God?

As Christians, we are ALL called to “teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance… 15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.” Titus 2:4

Because I came from the dark side of the tracks (the New Age), the Lord gave me a salvation experience that was totally convincing of Who He Is. The testimony of men didn’t mean anything to me because I had experienced hypocrisy in Christians and didn’t believe anything man told me. I was proud and had nothing but contempt for Christians who I believed were ignorant.

You can listen to my testimony on YouTube.* I was visited by Holy Spirit with a supernatural manifestation similar to Paul’s and was born again. Two months later I was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit, and gave my life to Him to do with as He wished. He poured out His Spirit on me and told me to go and prepare the way for Him.

Paul received his authority from no man, “11 For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it…Galatians 1:11-13

I am just one member in the Body of Christ, The Family of God, who has received the commission to go forth and make disciples of all nations, Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19

I’ve received it in prayer and from prophets who visited our church and it’s been confirmed over and over again with signs and visions, and Scriptures over the past 35 years. And I am obeying my husband of 25 years who is also a seasoned minister and covering, who completely endorses this ministry.****

Acts 2:16…but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

“…For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God… the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:14

Some people expect a big impressive booming voice in delivering God’s messages. But for me He chose the opposite, a gentle, soothing, calming voice, a still small voice. That’s just my nature, it’s not a put on, it’s who I am, so I use what I’ve got and others use what they’ve got. Maybe one of the reasons I don’t like being loud is that I don’t appreciate being shouted at.

My experience with God has always been gentle, tender and encouraging. That’s how He has revealed Himself to me. He has invited me to lay my head upon His heart even as John the Baptist did. That doesn’t make me better, rather it illustrates the Father’s love for us more clearly, as I explain in the Post, ‘Can I Know God Personally? What Scripture says.’ He chooses the unworthy to come closer and receive His love and healing, after all we’re the ones who really need it!

In summary the Lord has instructed us, “19 Do not quench the Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;…1 Thessalonians 5:20

And, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

Because I had a New Age background, the Lord has given me a more thorough education about discernment and spent more time with me sorting things out. As a result I have done scores of videos on discernment and what to look for in a message and how to prove it as truly from God or from a familiar spirit. I will go into this in greater depth on another post. That said, no one is perfect! And I share my mistakes with you as well in these teachings.

After seven years worth of experiences in non denominational churches, the Lord sent my husband and I into many, many different denominations, to see that He truly is no respecter of persons rather “in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him.…” Acts 2:17

All of that said, the proof of the tree is in the fruit and we all have the responsibility to discern truth from error. Everything we have taught can be found in the Scriptures, that is our first and last test of orthodoxy. That said, the Lord is continually revealing the depths of His love and mercy and our challenge is to cast off tradition when it conflicts with Scripture. Many have made denominational rules and interpretations superior to Scripture. So we are all continually challenged with understanding the ways of Holy Spirit when it doesn’t agree with what men have taught us in their denomination’s interpretation.

Our whole inspiration for Triage for Truth Seekers was to help believers come to a deeper understanding of what Scripture does teach when it conflicts with the social norms of their church, and challenges their doctrinal beliefs.

15…from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 4

****Three Scriptures given to me at my calling:

ONE: 12″Then the LORD spoke to you from the midst of the fire; you heard the sound of words, but you saw no form– only a voice. Duetoronemy 4:12 (my conversion experience was in the fire)

TWO: The Book of Esther

THREE: Jeremiah 1 12 4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

6 “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”

7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

9 Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
